Partner: Sociedade Chauá
Years: 2020-2023
The project takes place in the Araucaria forest and natural grasslands of southern Brazil, one of the most degraded ecosystem on the planet, with less than 1% of primary remnants. Beside the protection of 215 species, the activities of the project includes:
– protecting mother trees,
– producing seedlings,
– influencing nurseries and
– developing national conservation plans.
This project builds on activities initiated in 2011 and supported by the Global Trees Campaign. Started as a timid initiative, the project became a reference for native plants conservation.
